Transforming Power for Over 50 Years
Better known in the trade as Bob, he started making transformers in his garage with a handmade winding machine. The company continued to grow at a steady pace, with Bob consolidating its position in the Irish market for customised ‘design and build’ products and building a thriving business supplying industrial end-users, electrical contractors and electrical wholesalers. In 2001, Bob retired and sold the company to Electrotec Ireland Ltd, a company owned by Dick Troy and Jerimiah O’Dwyer. Under Electrotec, Briglec increased the capacity range of its transformers – now able to deliver units up to 400kVA – and became the main supplier of enamelled copper winding wire to motor rewind companies around Ireland.

Since then, Briglec Ltd added another string to its bow – the fabrication of stainless steel flexible hoses. Then, to keep pace with the expansion of its sister company, National Heat Treatment Centre, Briglec transferred into a new facility on an eight-acre site just outside the village of Caragh in Naas, Co. Kildare. For competitive quotes or products, contact the team who will endeavour to meet your exact delivery requirements.
